Has been walking in a Winter wonderland.

Happy belated Holidays! As some of you know, I'm not a very big fan of "Merry Christmas". Right after Christmas day, I went to Mount Rainier for the second time this year. I walked in snow that was 3 feet deep, and took a short hike in their Trail of Shadows. It was an easy trail, good enough for me since I've been sick for the past few days. We only went 15 miles up until we saw patrol telling people to turn around who don't have chains for their cars. It was a nice to spend after Christmas, since we knew Rainier wasn't going to be busy, and everyone was going to be shopping in the city.

Now it's time for a day trip to Leavenworth, WA for New Years!

sister cities

I'm incredibly proud that Seattle's sister city is Reykjavík in Iceland.

"your brown eyes are my blue skies"

Warpaint and The XX at The Paramount in Seattle September 25th, 2010

The show was wonderful. I didn't entirely know much on Warpaint except that my friend/co-worker, Andrea, has enough love for them that the world could not hold. So she had to pass some of that love on to me. Warpaint is one of the many girl bands that should be respected. They have soul, and more talent than most mainstream girl bands/singers in general. And I'm absolutely picky about music.

The XX weren't amazing. They played the good song that everyone likes (Crystallized), but their music wasn't enjoyable live. Props to them for using special effects during their set though.

inbetween seasons I get seasonal manic disorder

I walk out from work holding a cup of pumpkin spice latte in one hand, and smell the crisp air at 8pm. The day was sunny and around 70 degrees, like the beginning of June. I'm feeling a bit indifferent about the seasons starting to change because the cold air made me crave my scarves, and a new pair of boots.

However, the sunny day made me realize I didn't get to jump in tide pools at Kalaloch Beach like I used to do when I was little, except I was going to bring a book of identifying Pacific Northwest's sea creatures.

It's absolutely not a good feeling when you feel lost even when you are the kind of person who knows what they want from the beginning, and I want one day of summer back so I can jump in tide pools.

Excerpts from The Atheist's Bible

"I believe in God, only I call it Nature." -Frank Lloyd Wright

"If I had to choose a religion I think I should become a worshiper of the sun. The sun gives to all things life and fertility. Is is the true God of the earth." -Napoleon Bonaparte

Bumbershoot 2010: Celebrating 40 years of music and arts! Except, I celebrated without Bob Dylan...

...and The Decemberists. My big sister, Reney, and I bought economy tickets because the main stage tickets were sold out. It was to be expected though, Bob Dylan is a legend. We were just stupid to think we could buy the tickets on the day of the show.

However, we ran around and met up with Amber, and still got our money's worth! We still saw a lot of good live music (and a couple of questionable ones), and saw some short indie films as well.
This providence, and their stage.
